Meet Our Staff
All the surgical assistants at James B Phillips Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery are certified by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Phillips is an instructor in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Lance is certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). The administrative staff members are certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association.

Lance is a full time Registered Nurse (RN) in our practice, but he also splits time in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at NEA Baptist Hospital. Lance is responsible for much of the medical portion of the practice, i.e. history and physicals, post-op care, etc.
In his spare time, he is also coach at Crossfit 870.
Sharon joined the practice as our Administrator/Office Manager in 2006. She came to us from Franklin Foundation Hospital in Franklin, LA where she managed 3 physician offices and a specialty clinic for the hospital. She has brought more than 30 years of medical office experience and a few dishes of Cajun cuisine to our practice.
Sharon recently resigned her position as Administrator/Office Manager to be part-time so she could spend more time with her family. With 5 grandsons and 1 granddaughter, Sharon spends lots of her time now at basketball games, baseball games, and track meets.
Ashlee can usually be found manning our front desk. She's been taking care of our patients since 2010 and helps keep the front office running smoothly. As receptionist for our practice, with the added responsibility of Environmental Coordinator, she has to be agile and great at multi-tasking.
In Ashlee's spare time, she can be found teaching Hot Yoga at The Trim Gym or Craighead Park training for marathons and mud runs.
Heather has been with our practice for over 2 years. She is a Registered Dental Hygienist. She graduated from Wallace State Community College in Alabama in 2009. She is also a Certified Anesthesia Assistant of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Heather is also our OSHA and Infection Disease Coordinator.
In her spare time she can be found camping or at ASU games with her husband and family, playing video games or reading.
Cathryn worked in Pediatric Dentistry for 7 years prior to joining our practice in 2011. She is both an R.D.A. and a Certified Anesthesia Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Cathryn is also our Implant Coordinator.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 girls.
Marlene has been part of the practice since 1983. She attended dental assisting school at the Pikes Peak community College in Colorado Springs, CO. She is a Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Assistant and is a Certified Anesthesia Assistant through the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
When Marn isn’t assisting in surgery or fulfilling her other tasks at the off you may find her at home cooking for us, playing fantasy football, or with her friends in church.
Megan is a Poplar Bluff native, who has been in our practice since 2004. She is both an R.D.A. and a Certified Anesthesia Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Megan accepted the position of Administrative/ Office Manager in 2015.
If you’re looking for Megan during off duty hours, she’s most likely chasing around her husband and three daughters.
